TVS Motor Company has officially launched the newest version of its popular street-naked bike called the Apache RTR 160. This new aged version is positioned strategically to challenge the reign of KTM Duke 125 and KTM Duke 200-in the entry-level performance motorcycle segment. With updates flowing freely in design and performance, the 2025 Apache RTR 160 will have a loud voice in the marketplace.
Styling: Aggressive Design and Execution
The new Apache RTR 160 comes with sharper and more aggressive styling, keeping in mind the racing DNA it carries. The new LED setup now adorns the headlamp, incorporating DRLs too, thereby upping the modernity and menace on scale.
The fuel tank engraving is different this time around to aid ergonomic appeal and road presence, while the tail section is updated to boost sportiness. The bike also has newer graphics and color schemes that further escalate aggression.
Styling and Performance Continue to Enhance Each Other
The reliability machine has been endowed with an air-cooled, four-stroke 159.7cc single-cylinder engine producing a power of 16.04 PS and torque of 13.85 Nm. A 5-speed gearbox enjoys the pleasure of being paired to it.
With a little more tuning, the engine would have gained more mid-range torque to benefit everyday citizens commuting on city highways. The bike also comes with Glide Through Traffic (GTT) technology. Essentially, this new feature enhances the bike’s manoeuvrability at low speed.
Technology and Feature Upgrades
The new generation introduces a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity via the SmartXonnect system. Riders now get turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and ride statistics from their paired smartphone. The bike also has the segment-first three riding modes: Urban, Rain, and Sport that lets the rider adjust throttle response and ABS intervention to suit varying conditions.
Competitive Pricing and Market Position
Price-wise, the TVS Apache RTR 160 will be competitively placed at near ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), much below its Austrian rivals’ price tags while bearing a feature-packed offer. Sporting aggressive styling, loaded with features, and having idling-through-precision performance, the all-new Apache will easily take lead in the performance commuter segment.
